Dr. Ghodssi Invited for Talk at 2025 AUKUS Forum in Sydney, Australia

The AUKUS Forum’s high-level workshop in Sydney has been hailed as an outstanding success, bringing together leaders from defence, industry, academia, and government for a time of strategic insight and practical collaboration. The event demonstrated clearly that AUKUS is moving from ambition to execution, powered by a strengthening industrial base across Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Distinguished Professor Reza Ghodssi, Executive Director of Research & Innovation at the MATRIX Lab at the University of Maryland, provided a compelling overview of research-driven innovation shaping AUKUS Pillar II.

He highlighted significant advances across robotics, autonomous systems, advanced sensing, and integrated technologies—fields where collaboration between academia, government, and industry will determine the alliance’s future capability advantage. His contribution emphasised the importance of accelerating pathways from research to deployment across the three nations.
